Minutes of Parish Meetings
Minutes
of the Parish Council Meeting - July 2004
1.
A14 Village Traffic Calming Project.
Councillors will be having an initial meeting with the County Traffic Management
Department of the County Council to discuss traffic flow through the village
and look at areas of particular concern. It is anticipated that the County
Council will then prepare a draft proposal, which will be presented to the
full Council before the local consultation stage begins.
2.
Bus Service through Girton.
Thanks to those residents who have contacted the Parish Office with the
problems they have had with the bus service through Girton. All information
is being channelled through Councillor M Wilson who will be contacting directly
the bus operators concerned.
3.
Litter Picking.
Many thanks to those who came to the last litter pick. The next one is due
on Saturday 30th August from 9am onwards at the Recreation Ground.
4.
Mobile Warden Scheme.
District Councillor Jane Healey passed to the Council a file containing
information on Mobile Warden Schemes. It was anticipated that the Council
would look at this and consider the suitability of such a scheme for Girton.
5.
Pump Garden.
At the Open Spaces Committee meeting it was agreed that the garden should
be cut back and grubbed out, except for the silver birch. An open area with
hedging around it would be created enabling up to two seats to be sited
there.
6.
Next Meetings.
The next Planning meeting will be held on Wednesday 6th August at St Vincent's
Close Community Centre at 8pm. There will be no August meeting of the Parish
Council. However, at an extra Planning Meeting to be held on 27th August
(details the same as for 6th August) non-planning items may be added to
the Agenda. The September Parish Council meeting will be held on Wednesday
17th September at 7.45pm at Orchard Close Community Centre.
