Minutes of Parish Meetings
Minutes
of the Parish Council Meeting - February 2005
1.
Recycling.
The Recycling and Waste Minimisation Officer from SCDC gave an interesting
and informative presentation to the Council about waste and recycling operations
in the district. He said that South Cambridgeshire was expected to recycle
48% of its waste this year which would take the district up to one of the
highest in the country. He requested the Parish Council to encourage Girton
residents to continue to recycle as much waste as possible.
2.
Cotton Hall Trustee.
At the meeting the Parish Council voted to appoint Mr John Stewart as a
Trustee of the Cotton Hall Trust. Mr Stewart lives with his family in the
village and both his daughters have benefited from facilities provided by
the Cotton Hall. He is wished every success in this role.
3.
Town Charity Trustee.
The appointment of a new trustee for the Girton Town Charity was discussed.
Two candidates have expressed an interest in this position and will be interviewed
by the Parish Council in due course.
4.
Tennis Courts.
The tennis courts are to be resurfaced in April. The courts will be closed
for several days whilst this work is carried out.
5.
Oakington to Girton Cycle Path Improvements.
These improvements were discussed at the meeting. The Councillors expressed

path.
