Girton Village Plan - Our Future?

A village open meeting was held on 17th July attended by close to 50 people, from all over the village. Thank you to all those attended. We received lots of valuable input, but it's only the start. In order for the village plan to have substantial impact we need to make sure that everyone gets involved. The Village Plan will be a shared vision for our community over 10 years. The more people contribute the greater value the plan will have for the village.

The meeting was attended by a wide mix of age groups and sparked lively debate about all areas of Girton village life. The meeting allowed people to share their views about Girton and the issues surrounding our village. The comments from the evening will be collated, and the feedback will be used to help formulate the questionnaire and kick-start the interest groups. We hope to provide a summary in next month's GPN.

Comments were collected regarding transport; learning and development; village identity; planning and major developments; the environment; care, safety and health; and business and employment. Interest groups have been set up and we are still looking for volunteers to help design a survey around these themes that will be sent out to residents this autumn.

The committee invited representatives from local businesses, clubs, groups and organisations from around the village. The village plan will also include a directory of all village groups, clubs and organisations. If you are involved in any aspect of village life, please email info@girtonvillageplan.org or get in touch on the number below so that we can keep you informed of developments and include your group in the directory.
