The village plan has reached an exciting stage where we have our first tangible output: the questionnaire. This is a significant achievement and a crucial part in generating the village plan. We will only have the opportunity to do this once in every 5 - 10 years so it is important that we get this part right.
Over the last couple of months the Village Plan Steering Committee and members of the village have been meeting on a regular basis to put together a questionnaire for the whole village on the subjects of Village Identity; Planning & Major Developments; Transport; Environment; Education, Learning & Development; Care, Safety & Health; Leisure & Culture; and Business & Employment. Each meeting attracted up to 20 - 30 participants and was designed to help formulate questions to the village whose answers will in turn generate a long range plan for Girton.
The questionnaire was enthusiastically endorsed at the recent Parish Council meeting. Over the next few weeks we will be looking to get funding for the printing costs, printing and distributing the questionnaire and collecting responses. We still need help! If you can help with any of these activities then please let us know - if you can help distribute and collect questionnaire in your street we need to hear from you; if you have a large printer in your garage contact us! Hopefully the questionnaire will be out soon and as many of us as possible will help in the design of a plan for improving our quality of life in Girton.
