Girton Village Plan: Get Involved!

At the Village Plan open meeting in June we gave out cards for people to register their primary areas of interest; and the results are in! We divided up potential areas of interest into eight main themes and over half of the attendees recorded an interest or concern about the village identity, traffic and transport, the local environment and, not surprisingly, major planning developments both in and around Girton. The full results are given here:

Village Identity 59%
Planning and Major Developments 62%
Traffic and Transport 62%
Environment 52%
Learning and Development 31%
Care, Safety and Health 28%
Leisure and Culture 31%
Business and Employment 14%

You can still vote and you can still get involved! At the village plan open meeting we had a lot of people volunteer to help out; but we're still looking for more! We asked people to complete a card to record the sorts of things that concerned them. If you weren't able to attend, but would still like to volunteer or just want to register your interests and concerns, please complete the questions below, cut out the card and return to the Village Plan box at either The Post Office, Dodford Lane or Walkers Newsagents (4 Thornton Way) or through the letter box at Number 15, Cambridge Road. Alternatively you can email your answers to info@girtonvillageplan.org

Please tell us what level of involvement you'd be prepared to have in the Girton village plan (please tick any that apply):

____________ will fill out the survey with it arrives in Autumn;
____________ will help distribute the survey to people near my home;
____________ will help decide what questions to put in the survey;
____________ will take a more active role by joining a committee.

If you are interested in particular issues in Girton, please tick the relevant topics below:

____________ Girton's identity as a village;

____________ Transport and traffic concerns;

Interested in the following themes? Then come and help refine the village questionnaire.

Over the next few months we'll be holding special interest group meetings to cover each of these topics. There will be two parallel sessions on each date, running from 8pm to approximately 8.45pm at the Cotton Hall with the aim of refining the topics covered and the questions we should be asking of the whole community. Anyone with an interest in Girton is welcome to attend these sessions and help decide.
