A14 junctions 33 to 37, in both directions: essential maintenance work

During this work, we’ll replace the safety barriers, install a new drainage system, replace roads studs and carry out some resurfacing.

We plan to complete this work over 5 months from Monday 8 March to Friday 30 July. We will complete this work using lane closures, in both directions. These lane closures will be in place 24/7 for the duration of the work.

To safely install these lane closures, we will need to close the A14 between junctions 33 and 37 for 10 nights from Monday 8 March to Friday 19 March, on weeknights only, between the hours of 9pm and 4am, subject to weather conditions.

We have closely liaised with the local authority to agree the most suitable diversion routes for these closures.

A14 junctions 33 to 37, eastbound only, from Monday 8 March to Friday 12 March, from 9pm to 4am (5 nights)

  • Eastbound traffic on the A14 will be diverted at junction 33 onto the A10 Ely Southern Bypass and the A142 / Fordham Road before re-joining the A14 at junction 37.
  • Eastbound traffic wanting to join the A14 at junction 35 will travel via the A1303, A1304 and the A142 / Fordham Road before re-joining the A14 at junction 37.
  • Northbound traffic on the A11 will be diverted off the A11 at Six Mile Bottom via the A1304, to re-join the A11 at junction 38.
  • Northbound traffic on the A11 wanting to join the A14 will be diverted via the A1304, and the A142 / Fordham Road, to join the A14 eastbound at junction 37.

A14 junctions 37 to 33, westbound only, starting Monday 15 March to Friday 19 March, from 9pm to 4am (5 nights)

  • Westbound traffic on the A14 will be diverted at junction 37 along the A142 / Fordham Road, onto the Ely Southern Bypass and the A10 before re-joining the A14 at junction 33.

  • Southbound traffic on the A11 will be diverted at the A14, junction 38, along the A1304, to re-join the A11 at Six Mile Bottom.

A14 junction 36 to 37, in both directions, lane 3 closure from Monday 8 March to Friday 30 July, 24/7.

  • Traffic will be able to travel through this location however, please expect some delays.
