A14 junctions 33 to 37, in both directions: essential maintenance work

Important roadworks information

I write to update you on the essential maintenance work at the above location. We are making good progress on the first phase of this work installing new drainage assets and new safety barriers, and we are writing to update you on the details of our second phase of this work.

To safely install the traffic management for our second phase of work we will need to close the A14 between junctions 33 and 37 for 20 nights from Thursday 17 June to Wednesday 14 July, between the hours of 9pm and 4am, subject to weather conditions. We will then have lane closures in place 24/7 for the remainder of this work.

We have closely liaised with the local authority to agree the most suitable diversion routes for these closures.

A14 junctions 33 to 37, westbound only, from Thursday 17 June to Tuesday 29 June from 9pm to 4am (8 nights) excluding 26 and 27 June.

·       Westbound traffic on the A14 will be diverted via junction 37 to A142 / Fordham Road, Ely Southern Bypass and A10 before re-joining the A14 at junction 33.

·       Southbound traffic on the A11 will be diverted via junction 38, A1304, re-joining the A11 at Six Mile Bottom.

A14 junctions 37 to 33, eastbound only, starting Wednesday 30 June to Wednesday 7 July and Monday 12 July to Wednesday 14 July, from 9pm to 4am (10 nights)

·       Eastbound traffic on the A14 will be diverted via junction 33 to the A10 Ely Southern Bypass and A142 / Fordham Road before re-joining the A14 at junction 37.

·       Eastbound traffic wanting to join the A14 at junction 35 will travel via the A1303, A1304, A142 / Fordham Road before joining the A14 at junction 37.

·       Northbound traffic on the A11 will be diverted off the A11 at Six Mile Bottom via A1304, to re-join the A11 at junction 38.

·       Northbound traffic on the A11 wishing to join the A14 will be diverted via the A1304, A142 / Fordham Road to join the A14 eastbound at junction 37.

A14 junction 36 to 37, in both directions, lane 3 closure 24/7 from 14 July to mid-September

•       Traffic will be able to travel through this location, however, please expect some delays.

Please note: We’ve only included our closures to mid-July in this letter. We will have additional closures in September and will write to you again once these dates are confirmed.
