Background
In July 2023, Girton Parish Council completed a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) survey to understand the attitudes of those linked to Girton towards the community, facilities, amenities and thoughts about the future. Using the findings from the SWOT survey, Girton Parish Council designed and conducted a more detailed Parish Survey throughout April and May 2024 to help shape the Neighbourhood Plan 2041. Girton Parish Council commissioned Enventure Research, an independent research agency, to analyse and evaluate the findings from the Parish Survey and prepare this report.

Methodology summary
The online survey was designed and hosted by Girton Parish Council, and asked questions on a series of topics and issues. Respondents were also able to provide comments on specific topics throughout the survey. A copy of the full survey can be found in the appendices. Paper copies of the questionnaire were also distributed to all domestic residences and businesses by volunteers. In addition, non-resident landowners were invited to take part via email or post, depending on the contact details held by the Parish Council. The Parish Council promoted the survey both online and in print to make as many people as possible aware of the survey and able to submit an informed response.

Key findings
A total of 593 responses to the survey were received, which represented a 13% response rate, based on an approximate population of 4,400 as at the 2021 census. The response also included 21 non-residential responses, such as from landowners, businesses, organisations, clubs or societies.
