Dear Councillors of the Girton Parish Council,

In relation to the proposed new Active Travel path from Ten Acre Field to the Busway, I would like to indicate my full support to the proposal. I note the concerns raised by a fellow resident in their 3 February 2025 letter (hyperlinked above) regarding possible misuse of the route by bad actors creating noise. This cost will be dwarfed by the greater benefits to villagers (especially those who cannot drive or cannot afford a car), in light of the great need for a more direct and safe active travel route between Girton and the many facilities offered by Histon/Impington. The existing active travel routes are substandard and inadequate – I know very well, as I use them frequently.

I have reviewed the rest of the papers hyperlinked above and would like to warmly congratulate all involved in the following works: extension of the 20 mph zone, Wellbrook pond improvements, Girton corner improvements, corrections to signposting of the start of the village. All that working on shoe string budgets, and many without pay.
