GIRTON PARISH COUNCIL IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT OUR WEBSITE

We are pleased to let residents know that Girton Parish Council is moving to a new website. This is part of our ongoing work to improve communication, transparency and accessibility for everyone in the village.

Why are we moving to a new website?

  • Our current Parish Pages site is no longer able to support the level of openness and clarity we want to provide.
  • The new website will give residents one clear, modern, accessible place to find Council agendas, minutes, consultations, projects, surveys and updates.
  • It will also support better mobile access and easier navigation, which many residents have asked for.

Why is this important now?

2026 is a big year for Girton. We are:

  • delivering major projects (including heritage, environment and active travel work),
  • improving governance and compliance, and
  • strengthening public engagement through clear, consistent information.

A modern website is essential to support this.

What happens to this existing website?

Once the new website goes live, this Parish Pages site will no longer be updated.

  • All Council information will move to the new platform.
  • This site will remain view‑only for a short time before being fully retired.

What happens next?

  • Councillors will test the new website over the weekend of 31 January–2 February 2026.
  • Full Council will consider the final go‑live recommendation at its meeting on 12 February 2026.
  • After approval, the site will go live shortly afterwards.

We will post an update here once the final go‑live date is confirmed.

If you have any questions or feedback in the meantime, please contact the Clerk.
