Councillor Marcelo de Lima

I am a conservation biologist and landscape ecologist, with over twenty years of experience in the policy and practice of conservation biology and some 40 years working with civil society initiatives.

Before moving to the UK, in 2013, I worked in several different conservation NGOs such as the Wildlife Conservation Society and Conservation International, working in the Brazilian Savannah and in the Amazon Rainforest, were I met my wife, Annie, who is British and was working with the social economics of riverine communities in the basin.

We have a son, Thiago, who plays for the Girton Colts and have a house in Thornton Close.

I work at the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire as their Nature Recovery Network Coordinator and bring my experience and passion for biodiversity conservation to the Girton Parish Council leading the development of a Local Nature Recovery Plan for our village.
