Councillor Carolyn Wright

My name is Carolyn Wright and I have lived in the village for 3 years. I have spent a lot of time renovating my Parent’s bungalow in Hicks Lane which has pulled me outside my comfort zone and has been a great learning experience for me.

I have worked in Retail for many years with some well-known High Street names and currently work part time as delivery co-ordinator in Cambridge. I am a passionate Manager and enjoy using my years of experience to train and develop my current team.

For 5 years I was employed as an Assessor working with apprentices to assist them to gain their NVQ with companies across East Anglia and I specialised in working with students who were dyslexic.

I also run my own successful business called Rela Designs, which continues to grow and allows me to spend time following my passion of sewing and designing. My business is growing, and I enjoy that it gives me the opportunity to come into contact with customers and other hand makers in person and online. I also have expanded my online sales on Folksy a platform for UK based hand makers and am delighted that I am finding my business is often reaches their top ten sellers.

I have joined the Council as I am passionate about local business and young people as well as the communities and people where I grew up and now live.
