Be Alert to Covid Vaccine Scams
There are currently numerous scams in existence, targeting residents with false information about the vaccination programme. Please remember that the NHS will never ask anyone for a payment for the Covid vaccine.
PLEASE BE ALERT TO COVID VACCINE SCAMS
The NHS will:
NEVER ask for payment – the vaccine is free
NEVER ask for your bank details
NEVER arrive unannounced at your home to administer the vaccine
NEVER ask you to prove your identity by sending copies of personal documents such as your passport
If anyone tries to do any of these things using a covid vaccine as the excuse, call the police at once.
Vaccination programme
We are aware that local people are concerned by national news reports that the vaccine programme has been extended to the over 70s group while there are still people in the over 80s group who haven’t yet received the vaccine. Please be reassured if you are worried about this that you haven’t been missed.
In our area, the same groups remain the priority for vaccination: care home residents and staff, the over 80s and frontline healthcare workers. As long as people are registered with a GP, they will be invited for an appointment. Only if people are not registered with a GP do they need to act – by registering themselves. More sites have opened up across the district this week and more people will be invited for appointments soon. Job Centre opening hours
For those who are looking for work, the opening hours at local Job Centres have changed. From Monday 18 January onwards, they are open from 10am to 2pm.
